Experience Maui in the Summer and SAVE

Posted on: April 29, 2018

Maui has become a 12 month travel destination, but even so there are times that you can find Maui condo deals. Don’t want to wait for the end? Go straight to our Maui condo deals page now.

Every season on Maui is a wonderful season – but each season has its own set of unique experiences ready for you. Here are some of the best experiences Maui offers in the summer.

Golf: There are many beautiful courses on island, but golf doesn’t have to break the bank. The Wailea area has three golf courses, Gold, Blue and Emerald. If you are staying in any resort in Wailea (this includes staying at any of our Wailea Ekahi Village properties) and you receive the Wailea Resort rate at all three of the Wailea courses.

The three courses include the Blue, Emerald and Gold. The Gold Golf Course is our favorite of the three, while the Emerald is our least favorite. If you are interested in seeing some of the multi-million dollar homes then you will enjoy playing the Blue Course, which was recently re-designed! These are half private, half public, so you need to call ahead to get tee times. There are times when the courses are open for members only.

There is also a professional golf school if you are interested in lessons. Wailea Golf Club offers the only David Leadbetter Academy in Hawaii. Recognized as one of the leading golf instructors in the world, David Leadbetter is often associated with his contribution to the successes of Nick Faldo, and continues to work with such leading golfers as Nick Price, Ernie Els, Justin Rose, Charles Howell III, Sean O’Hair, Trevor Immelman and Hawaii’s own Michelle Wie. There are currently 28 full-time David Leadbetter Golf Academy locations in 13 countries spanning North America, Europe and Asia.

More information about where to golf on Maui is located here.

4th of July Fireworks: Lahaina has an annual Independence Day celebration. It is fun for all and includes live bands, lots of festivities, and food and specials at many of Lahaina’s restaurants and shops. There is an amazing fireworks show over the ocean fronting Lahaina at 8 pm –- the only public July 4th fireworks display on the island. You won’t regret this celebration!

Friday Night Town Parties: If it’s Friday, there’s a party on Maui! The Town Parties (sponsored by Maui County) take place four Friday evenings a month in different towns across the island. The town parties are great fun for both visitors and residents, with local food, entertainment, and vendors.

Here is a schedule for Friday night town parties:

First Friday of the month — Wailuku Town Party (Central Maui)

Second Friday — Lahaina Town Party (West Maui)

Third Friday — Makawao Town Party (Upcountry)

Fourth Friday – Kihei Town Party (South Maui)

Free things to do: There are many activities and festivals you can enjoy for free. A couple of sources we have for this include 25 free things to do in Maui and what to do on Maui with kids.

Hana Cultural Center & Museum Ho’olaulea: A ho’olaulea is a festival, and this annual event is a wonderful celebration of the people, culture and history of Hana. It’s an authentic slice of Hawaii, featuring Hawaiian music, food, farmers market, craft booths, and more. This is happening on August 18, 2018 in Hana (East Maui).

Road to Hana: of course we also recommend the Road to Hana any season. Tips for making the trip can be found here.

Grub: The next best thing to the beach on Maui…is eating on Maui!! There are some of the most amazing restaurants all around the island. We put together a list of all of our favorites as a quick guide.
