Explore the beaches of Wailea

Posted on: October 19, 2018

While the island of Maui itself boasts many beaches worth a visit (in fact 2 land in the Trip Advisor top 16 Beaches in the USA), some of our very favorite are right here in Wailea. In fact, there is a very easy way to see five of those gorgeous beaches just by taking a morning or sunset stroll on the Wailea Coastal Walk. The Wailea Coastal Walk runs from the popular Keawakapu Beach in the north, past eight resorts and condos, to Polo Beach in the south. You can view four islands: West Maui, Lanai, Kahoolawe and Molokini.

The Wailea Coastal Walk was strategically designed for public beach access and shows you the breathtaking views of the area, as well as a sneak peak into eight world class resorts. The free walk is approximately 1.5 miles long and even includes some height at the end on Wailea Point, which makes for great honu (sea turtles) spotting or whale watching in season. There are five public beach access areas. All have parking and showers; three also have restrooms, barbecue facilities and picnic areas.

You will see joggers and Sunday strollers. Some of the walk is like a boardwalk, while others are sand or paved. Many people use the path to walk from resort to resort or to get to lunch or dinner. What’s nice is that any time you want a drink, a cup of coffee or something to eat, you can stop at a beach concession or hotel restaurant.

We hope you enjoy the beaches of Wailea as much as we do. Let us know your favorite(s)!
