Halloween on Maui

Just because you’re not in the cold, rainy and leaf-changing atmosphere many of us have come to know Halloween as, doesn’t mean there isn’t some of the best “Halloweening” in paradise on Maui.

The Valley Island goes all out for the holiday, actually, and if you’re up for festivities of all kinds, you are in the right place. We’ve listed some of the biggest happenings for Halloween below!

Lahaina

Lahaina Town has one of the biggest Halloween parties on island. If you want to be where the action is, get to Front Street, which becomes known as the Mardi Gras of the Pacific at Halloween. People will be walking around in their costumes. Local bars, restaurants and shops all participate, with many having contests and prizes for the best costumes. A children’s parade takes place around 4 pm.

Mulligan’s on the Blue

One of our favorite spots no matter what is going on, Mulligan’s is located in Wailea. This year, there is a Bones, Thugs-N-Harmony Halloween concert. Advanced ticket sales are available and costumes are encouraged, of course!

Halloween Cruise

Arrive in style for the Lahaina Halloween party. The cruise boards in Maalaea at 4:30 pm, arrives in Lahaina at 6:30 pm and back in Maalaea at 10:30 pm.The costume contest includes a $500 grand prize! The cruise also includes an open bar and a variety of yummy appetizers and desserts.

The Shops at Wailea

This family-friendly event runs from 3-6 pm on Sunday, October 29th and includes a keiki (kids) and pet costume contest with prizes and after the contest, families and children are invited to stroll The Shops for a special trick-or-treat in their costumes.

South Shore Tiki Lounge

Halloween Boos and Boozes in Kihei! Costume contest with DJ sets by DJ Salvo and drink specials all day.

Maui Mall Halloween Scavenger Hunt

Come back to Kahului, yes, near the Airport, from 4-7 pm, hunt down the hidden Zombies for a chance to win prizes, trick-or-treat for candy and take picture with your O’hana (family). There will be a variety of music and arts and crafts for the kids.

We know if you partake in any of the festivities above, you will have an on-island Halloween you will never forget!  Send us your favorite Halloween photos and we will post them.
