Welcome back to Maui

Posted on: June 25, 2020

Thank you Governor Ige for allowing visitors back to Maui and all of Hawaii! Welcome back to Maui!

As we know, beginning on June 16th people that have been in the State of Hawaii for more than 14 days could begin traveling between islands without an additional 14-day quarantine.

Now, beginning August 1st, trans-pacific travels can avoid a 14-day quarantine IF the obtain a NEGATIVE COVID-19 test result within 72 hours of their arrival to Maui.

Today I am announcing that beginning August 1st we will implement a pretravel testing program for travelers to Hawaii as an alternative to the 14-day mandatory quarantine. Beginning August 1st travelers who have a valid negative COVID-19 test prior to arriving will not be subject to the 14-day mandatory quarantine. The quarantine will remain in place for those who choose to not get a pre-travel test.

Governor David Ige, June 24, 2020

The Hawaii Visitors and Convention Bureau has a great synopsis of the press conference from June 24th. You can check out the highlights from their website.

Though not specifically extended, it is clear the 14-day quarantine is still in place past July 31st, but with a negative Covid-19 test a traveler can avoid the quarantine. I am not sure how long you will need to take the test – meaning I suspect it might be a few months that the pre-arrival test and or quarantine will stay in place.

The good news of course is that if you wish to come to Maui you can avoid the quarantine and enjoy the Island.

Summer and Fall Opening at Ekahi Village

Now that travel can occur to Maui come check out Ekahi Village and take that break from Zoom meetings (or do them here) and in-home schooling (send the kids to the beach!).

We keep our calendars updated in real time, and you can book directly from the calendar as well.

Updated group availability calendar can be found on our website. This is a great place to start to look for openings. Please do note, it is a very real possibility that “back to backs” (arrivals and departures on the same day) may not be possible due to new enhanced cleaning requirements.

New Cleaning Standard at Pauli Family Condos

It is on the top of everyone’s mind: how will the condo be cleaned? Is it safe for me to come to Maui and stay at a vacation rental. In short, yes.

In fact, it may be better than a hotel. You’ll have a completely cleaned and sanitized condo including a kitchen. Send one family member to the grocery store and you can spend a week without having to visit resutarants if you choose.

For complete idea as to how we will be cleaning the condos, please do check out our Covid-19 cleaning procedures from our website.

We look forward to having you back to Maui and hope you’ll continue to practice social distancing while here, be smart and healthy!
