Known as one of the most beautiful beaches on the island, Big Beach offers gorgeous blue waters that are perfect for swimming, snorkeling and scuba diving. There is also almost a mile of beach for sunbathers and sandcastle builders alike to enjoy. You’ll find this small slice of heaven around mile marker 4 on Makena Alanui Road.
This resort area is home to many accommodations for one reason, the beaches are amazing! Nearly three miles of sand stretch along the coastline where the warm ocean waters meet the west side of the island. You can also find Black Rock here. Loaded with amenities not offered at other beaches, Baldwin Beach Park is one of the most visited beaches on the North Shore. Spacious parking lots, public restrooms, showers, sports fields and even a picnic area make this spot a must-stop for families. Not only does it come with great access to amenities, but it offers spectacular views and warm sandy beaches. Follow highway 36 east and you’ll find this gem just past the golf course.
You won’t want to miss this stop at mile marker 32 on the Road to Hana! Head down the gravel road to Wai’anapanapa State Park where you will find the trail that leads you to one of the most unique spots in the world, Maui’s black sand beach.
